Rust GitHub Rankings
Discover open-source projects by popularity, activity and growth.
Public repositories ranked by cumulative Star count.
About this rust ranking
Rust projects include systems software, terminals, databases and application libraries. A high star count signals developer interest, while maintenance activity, stability and platform support help you assess practical fit.
Weekly and monthly growth compare total Stars on two UTC observation dates exactly 7 or 30 days apart. We match repositories by GitHub ID across the projects tracked in our category datasets. Projects without a matching baseline are excluded; counts can decrease when users unstar. This is a ranking within our observed cohort, not an exhaustive GitHub growth ranking.
Most stars and Most forks use cumulative counts. Recently updated preserves GitHub's update search order. New & popular filters repositories created in the previous 30 days; Active & popular filters code pushes in the previous 7 days. Both popularity views sort by total Stars. Help wanted preserves GitHub's help-wanted issue-count order, rather than sorting by all open issues. The displayed Updated date comes from repository metadata; Code pushed is a separate timestamp.
Each search collects up to 100 public repositories with at least 100 Stars, excluding forks and archived projects. Language lists use GitHub's primary-language classification; topic lists use maintainer-assigned tags. Updates are scheduled daily, and failed updates preserve the previous observation. GitHub search limits and indexing delays can affect coverage.
This is independent of GitHub Trending. Stars and Forks indicate interest, not a guarantee of quality or active maintenance. No paid placement changes the ordering. Explore individual growth curves with Star History.
